Is CTXbase free? Do I need an account?
Converting is free, and files up to 10 MB do not need an account. Upload one file, paste a web page link, or paste text, then copy or download the Markdown. Sign in with Google to convert files up to 100 MB, save results to your library, or create read-only links.
Which files can I convert, and how large can they be?
PDF (including scanned PDFs, using OCR), DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, ODT, ODP, ODS, RTF, CSV, JSON, XML, HTML, TXT and Markdown, one file at a time. PDF and PPTX files can be up to 10 MB without an account or 100 MB when signed in; scanned files that need full OCR are limited to 25 MB. Other formats can be up to 4 MB. You can also convert a web page by URL or paste text directly.
What can an AI tool read through a CTXbase link?
Links are read-only. A document link gives access to exactly one saved Markdown document. A library link gives access to your 10 most recently updated saved documents, including documents you save later. AI clients connected over MCP can list and read those documents but cannot change anything.
